Brockley [Brickley]were there & the Shop was locked - Stevens's wife
told me that master was gone to Chepstow to bury his Unc[le]
& told me to go down to Edwd Brockley's [Brickley]house as he had
the key of the Shop - I went to E[dward]B[rockley]'s house & his wife
told me he was gone to the Shop - I went back but he
was not there I asked my Mistress for the key of the doors
to try & open the Shop to let the haullier & Sailor have
the chains & things they wanted - which she did
There was no on in the Shop - I did not see my Master
again until Saturday when he came back to work -
Edwd Brockley [Brickley] came back a week last Monday -
I asked him where he had been - he said he had been
home to Ireland to see his mother who was very bad
