Rega vs John Gibby

William Stevens of Pillgwenlly
in the Boro' of Newport Blacksmith
I have known John Gibby about
half a year He was a Blacksmith
working at Mr Evans's at Pill
I keep a shop at Pill and Edward
Brickley
worked for me for
nearly two years. The Friday
before the Riots at Newports I went
to my Shop about 7 Oclock in
the Evening and there found John
Gibby
and another man grinding
some thing at the Grindstone
in my Shop I did not see what
he was grinding and as I have
often given persons to grind things
in my Shop I did not think any
thing of it I went out leaving
Brickley at work making Hinges
for Ashfield the Butcher When I came
back Gibby and the man were gone
a few days before Jenkin Morgan
whom I knew as as a Milkman
at Pill came and asked me to
make him something the shape
of a Pike it was sharp at the
point and thin at the Edges

"Jenkin Morgan" is written in the left margin near the bottom of the page.
