Lewis Lewis sworn - says I am a
Banksman and live at Gelly deg
in the Parish of Bedwas - I know
the Prisoner he lives about half a
Mile from that to 3/4 of a Mile
from me- I know William Smith
he keeps the Angel Public House
I believe it is in Bedwas, it is a
Beer House, I remember being at
the Angel on the 1st November, it
was in the evening about 8 o'clock
at night as I can guess, There was a
good many people there, about 40
as near as I can guess - I saw
Lewis Rowland there, he was
standing by the Table, he had some
little Copy Book there and I seen
him write something upon it - The
Prisoner did tell the first thing
when I went in for every one that
was willing to go down to Newport
