Thomas Thomas of Crosspenmain in the parish of Monythusloyne
_______________________Beer House Keeper &
in the County of Monmouth ^ Collier States that I have
known W. Crossfield of Newport for several years - I know
him to be an extensive dealer in Gun Powder- Five Six
______________general
years ago I kept a ^ Shop at Crosspenmain - I was then
in the habit of purchasing quantities of Powder
of W. Crossfield two or three barrels at a time, -
Powder is generally used in getting the Coals.
- it was generally known among the Hills that W.
Crossfield
was a dealer in Powder - W. Crossfield
_________________________of the Hills
was also known to the Colliers ^ as he is the
Proprietor of the Trinant Colliery.
