__ vs Wm Davies

Thomas Watts will prove that
he was coming over in the Packet
from Bristol to Newport on the
21st Decr last. He there saw Wm
Davies
son of Roger Davies of
Blackwood whome he well
knew. We had conversation
about the Riots at Newport
and the serious consequences
which had resulted from it.
I asked him about the Lodge
at Pugh's at the Coach & Horses
at Blackwood I asked him who
was Sec- y He said he was sometimes
when Barwell was not there &
that Pugh was Treasurer - He
said that he was there on the
Friday Eve in consequence of a
Letter sent by Frost for them to
__ That there was a Specl Meeting of the Delegates
__ from the different Lodges there
Meet [^]that there were about 18
to 20 Delegates
^ in the Room besides Frost & Z. Williams
Jones^ Pugh Barwell and himself
That it was 5 £ was agreed to be
given to him for young Rock to go to
Cardiff to buy Arms. That Davies said
he would not trust Rock and took the
money himself and that he went
to Newport next day to buy Arms
