Regina v[ersus] [blank space]

John Pollock I am a Dock Laborer - I live at Pillgwenlly- near
the new Dock
- I went to St. Paul's Church on
Sunday the third November instant both
Morning and Evening - I left the Church at
Eight o'Clock in the Evening - I went home -
I had my tea and went to bed - It was
about nine o'Clock when I went to bed -
about half an hour after I was in bed I heard
two raps at the door - I heard the door
opened - I heard a strange voice ask
for Patrick Hickey - I heard my landlady
call out "Mr. Hickey - you're wanted" - I
heard saw Hickey get up and go down Stairs-
I then got out of bed - I went down Stairs to
light the Candle - I saw two men in the
room - I lit the Candle - My Landlady
^ Mrs Glynn said I could have done that for you - you
need not have come down Stairs" - I should
Know the two men if I saw them again -
I returned to my bed room with a lighted
Candle and went into bed - in half an
hour after I returned to bed I heard another
rap at the front door - I heard voices
outside
- Immediately after this rap I
heard my landlady calling out "get up
lads there's some one wants you here" -
Myself, Hickey, and John Murphhy slept in
one Room - We all got up - and
went down stairs - I saw ^ the same two men
inside the door - They said to addressing
all three - "make haste and come on -
we have no time for delay
" - I went in
company with Hickey, and John Murphy,
with the two men- we were joined with
by a great many other men outside - We
