Monmouth the 10th December & adjourned
to the 31st December 1839 -

The Queen
against
John Owen

Brief for the Prosecution
Monmouthshire (to wit) The Jurours for our
sovereign Lady the Queen upon their oath present
that John Owen late of Aberystruth in the Coy
of Monmouth
Blacksmith heretofore to wit on the 1st
day of October in the year of our Lord 1839 and on
divers other days and times between that day and
the taking this Inquisistion to wit at Aberystruth
aforesaid in the Coy afsd unlawfully and seditionsly
did conspire combine confederate and agree with divers
other persons to the jurors unknown to raise insurrections
tumults disturbances & breaches of the public peace
within this Realm and to oppose and obstruct the
due execution of the Law and to provide arms to
wit pikes Swords & Daggers for more effectively
carrying the said
conspiracy combination confederacy
and agreement into effect & the said John Owen in
futherance & pursuance of the said conspiracy
combination confederacy and agreement did during the
time afsd to wit on the 1st day of Novr in the year
afsd & on divers other days & times between that day
& the taking this Inquisition to wit at Aberystruth
afsd in the Coy afsd unlawfully procure & make
divers to wit 50 pikes & deliver the same to divers
