The Deposition Declaration of William Evans of
Sirhowy in the County of Monmouth
a Miner taken before W Lewis Edwards
Esquire
Justice of the Peace for the Borough
of Newport
this 4th day of November 1839
I thinkI came from home last night
about 10 o'clock - A party of men called
for me. I cannot say how many as I was
drunk I was in my lodgings not in bed
I was half drunk when I went into my
lodgings - I lodged at W m illiam David's
a Miner - I used to he William David
used to work with William Williams
the Master of the Miners at Ha[r]ford's
Works
but has been ill three months
. John Parry ^ Miner was one of the company
who came for me he works in Tredegar
with he used to work with William Harbery
a Master of Miners-
