For Conspiracy & Riot
Brief for the Prosecution
Indictment For Conspiring on 1st October and other days at
Bedwellty with other divers persons to make insurrections & obstruct the
Laws and obtain arms for the more effectually carrying into effect
their conspiracy - And that in furtherance thereof Prisoners
with others to the number of 2000 and more on the 3rd Nov.r at Bedwellty
riotously assembled armed with Guns &c and made a great riot &
broke open divers dwelling houses and beat and illtreated divers
liege Subjects and seized and took divers quantities of arms &
and therewith further armed themselves against the peace &c
2nd Count - For conspiring to make insurrections & obstruct the due -
execution of the Laws
3rd Count - For Riotously assembling and making & continuing
a Riot for 48 Hours. -
