Regina. v. Llewellin -

John Maggs - I live at Pontnewynydd - I am
a Cordwainer - I joined the Chartists
about Society held at the House of
John Llewellin
who has been apprehended
on a charge of High Treason -
about 12 Months ago
^ I became a Member of the above
Society - I paid five pence upon
my entrance and received a Card -
I cannot recollect what was on it -
One part of it was Universal Suffrage -
I paid the five pence to a man who
acted as Secretary - He was the
Secretary of the above Society -
My name was entered in a
Book also by the Secretary - Llewellin the
Prisoner was present - and received
the money - He was Treasurer -
The Card I received was signed by the
John Davis - Secretary - The Card
was headed " The Working Men's
Association" - W I attended
the meetings weekly for two or three
months after I entered - Llewellin
the Prisoner frequently addressed
the Members upon the principle
of the Charter - I have heard him say
that we must Stick up for the rights
of the Charter viz and vote by ballot,
Universal Suffrage, annual Parliaments,
